Pono ukulele is luthier owned and operated. It is founded by the craftsmen behind Ko’olau Ukulele. With many years of experience in vintage instrument restoration, repair, and custom building, we bring that deep knowledge and “hands on” background to our Pono instruments. Our ukuleles are all solid-wood built. It reflects the designs and tonal character of the instruments we make here in Hawaii.

We don’t chase short-lived trends or passing fads. Instead we concentrate on building well crafted, great sounding instruments meant to last for generations. Our goal is to create ukuleles that a modest beginner can comfortably learn on and a seasoned professional will continue to enjoy for years to come.
